Mute math: Mute math has found the key to good music. With the vocals that resemble Sting from the police, and Bono of U2. Mute math is a tight complex wonderball wound with such grace that it makes you smile. Every song put out is just so thought out. With that electric piano and amazing vocals this band will win you over pretty quickly. It doesn’t take long to fall in love with them. The well put together piano guitar and bass is one thing but the drums that Darren puts out are above top notch. Again Darren is one of those drummers that blends! He has figured out how to not be seen when people look over the band. Mute math is by far one of the up and coming bands for the main stream! For only having a debut and an ep they already have a signal on the movie “transformers” being a new-er band based out of new Orleans, LA they have certainly hit it big time.
Live: They have a very high energy show. Filled with summer salts over their piano, banging guitars with mallets, jumping off stage, and these amazing percussion parts that are to die for. The band can not just live in your mind on and on cd they must be seen live! You will have a whole new respect for them as a band.
Overall: Mute math = amazing piece of work which I am sure took allot of hard work! GO GET THE CD NOW!
Relient K’s 5th installment is quite the mundane sound that they shouldn’t be offering. At first glace this cd is quite nice. But after a little bit of listening you will find yourself fading out and not paying attention to the music. If this is what they were going for then they succeeded! The best song that keeps your attention on the cd is “must have done something right”. The catchy lyrics and poppy beat will make anyone enjoy this song. But as it goes on you find yourself dazing. I will say that the nice vocal harmony is quite nice! The guitar is just the same old guitar with a little but more added to it.
Drums are quite boring. I would have enjoyed more. Although their quirky sense of humor is still there as the 10sec song’s lyrics say “I just wasted 10 seconds of your time” overall, I would have liked to see some more change in this 5th cd! It is Good but not deep. So if you are looking for something you can put in your can and not really pay attention to then would suggest getting this cd!
House of Heroes’ Debut is a mouthful of nothing but Goodness. Their pop/alternative genre doesn’t hold them in as it does other bands. house of heroes is a very impressive trio. From Heavy guitar licks to their Prominent and powerful bass, the whole idea is solid. The lyrics have such a hidden power to them. Lyrics that you can’t just hear and know what they mean. Lyrics that you need to sit in a dark room listening to them and pondering what they mean. Their lovely vocal harmony and constant trading of the singing stick is most impressive. The drums are so well thought out you don’t even notice that they are so good. Collin lays it down with such talent that with the naked eye you will not be able to see how complex he is. Playing with the band must be his motto. As for the bass it is so deep and serves as a lead at some points. The guitar parts are more than anyone could ask for. House of heroes you can be sure and look for them to get big and quick. For a trio you would not think that! It sounds like at least a 4 piece.
Live: they put on quite a show is all I have to say
Overall: House of heroes the next big thing in Christian Rock/ Alt genre! If you don’t have the CD Go get it if you are a fan of relient K, the fighting jacks, mae, or any ALT/rock
