Seether review..

As some of you know seether has come out with a brand spanking new record. (finding beauty in negative spaces) well, it is ok. It is typical seether with their fairly amazing guitar riffs and cool bass lines. They have tapped into their heavier side in this record. Shown in the #1 track “like suicide.” They have kept there same sound just edged it up a little bit. they have a sound that most would enjoy. If this person liked the sound of Staind or Evans blue. On track 5 (fallen) Dale Stewart (bass) lays out a fat bass line to start the song up. nothing impressive but cool. Then he has a nice swing/blues bass line on track 2 (Fake it). Shaun Morgan (guitar and vocal) is a rather good Guitar player. He put out some nice riffs in this record. His voice has a hint of (this is going to sound weird) Scott Stapp (Creed). Just allot louder and more screaming. In some these songs he has a little bit of David Grohl (foo fighters) as well. The Drummer (John Humphrey) is not putting out what I would like too see. It is all basic beats. Nothing exciting. All kinda the same. Every once in a while he will lay out some pretty fast roll but this doesn’t make you a good drummer. I would have liked to seen some more complicated beats and rolls/fills. John has a style that (to me) is kinda lazy! There are parts where it would sound better for him to lay out something faster rather than cutting it to half!
Overall: Good music! Aside from their lyrics! Their lyrics are quite depressing. in the song “NO JESUS CHRIST” Shaun Morgan puts down Christians saying “you’re no Jesus Christ!” it seems he might be a little bit fed up with the Christian views. In the end of the song he ends up killing himself! Saying “put the gun in my mouth! Pull the trigger!” YES there are depressing! if only they had better lyrics then I would tell you it is a good record. The record has pretty good music!
